XPN Welcomes John Gorka
September 25, 2015 @ 8:00 pm
New Jersey native John Gorka first entered the folk music scene in the late 1970’s as an MC and sound man for a coffeehouse in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. As his talent and acclaim grew, John found himself traveling to New York City to open for powerful voices and influences in the folk and country music worlds. From New York, John began touring folk festivals across the nation, continually winning awards and rising in popularity as he traveled. Now, almost four decades later, Gorka continues to captivate audiences around the globe with his calm yet emotionally poignant storytelling style of folk music. And, for just one evening, John Gorka will be returning to the state that started his career for an unforgettable night of live music and entertainment.
Unlike our regular Main Stage Concerts, the Midtown Scholar will be closed for business during this event, to provide you with an uninterrupted acoustic evening with John Gorka. Tickets are now on sale, and quantities are limited, so we hope you will reserve yours today.
If you are unfamiliar with Gorka’s work, you will find a video of John’s song “Blue Chalk” below that showcases not only his incredible musical talent, but also his approachably calm stage presence.
